Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a period of scapula stabilization exercises on pain, shoulder position and performance of volleyball players with scapular dyskinesia.Methods: The current study was semi-experimental and applied type. 30 female volleyball players with scapular dyskinesia were purposefully selected and randomly placed in two control and training groups. Shoulder position, shoulder pain and specific performance of volleyball players were evaluated by using photography method, numeric pain rating scale and AAHPERD service test, respectively. scapula stabilization exercises were performed for eight weeks by the training group. After the exercises, the post-test was performed. To analyze the parametric data, the dependent t-test and the analysis of covariance test were used, and the Wilcoxon and Yeoman-Whitney tests were used for the non-parametric data.Results: The results of the research showed that eight weeks of scapular stabilization exercises have a significant effect on improving shoulder position, specific performance and reducing shoulder pain in volleyball players with scapular dyskinesia.Conclusion: scapular stabilizing exercises can be effective in improving shoulder position, developing specific performance and reducing shoulder pain in volleyball players with scapular dyskinesia.
